DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide communication to students and parents on a weekly basis through a variety of tools: PLP messaging, phone, emails and other means.
• Grade student work within 24-48 hours of being submitted.
• Provide feedback and suggestions on assignments.
• Manage the PLP messaging system in each class to encourage participation and learning in the virtual classroom.
• Meet weekly expectations as outlined in teacher training and the Teacher Expectations and Guidelines.
• Participate in professional development and departmental meetings as scheduled.
• Maintain a professional code of conduct, including but not limited to professional language and actions.
• Maintain professional confidentiality of personal and private matters pertaining to students, parents, and co-workers.
• Communicate effectively, both verbal and written.
• Demonstrate willingness and desire to work and collaborate with students, parents, co-workers, and the general public.
• Prioritize work and handle multiple tasks while working independently.
• Display excellent planning and organizational skills.
• Take initiative to look at data analytically.
• Adapt to change while conveying professionalism.
• Establish rapport with students/parents and encourage students to maintain attendance and academic expectations.
• Direct students to necessary resources including: teachers, tutoring staff, admission’s staff, and guidance support.
• Additional duties as needed.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Advanced degree in content area preferred.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS:

• A valid Arizona teacher certification required
• Highly Qualified (HQ) as defined by the Arizona Department of Education in content area and grade-level
• Full ESL and/or Full Bilingual Endorsement preferred
• Full SEI Endorsement required
• A valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

EXPERIENCE: 

• Experience working with an ethnically diverse urban population
• Experience working with minority and ELL students preferred

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:

• Moderate to advanced technology experience and training required.
• Advanced training in instruction, curriculum, technology integration and student management preferred.

Position: Part Time and Full Time positions available.
